Our Future

Our Vision and Strategic Plan

The Marian House Board of Directors, Corporate Board and Staff determined eighteen months ago that it was time to develop a vision and strategic plan for Marian House as a guide for the next decade.

During our in-depth discussions and research for this plan, we realized that the following will influence the future of Marian House, and the thousands of women and children we are committed to serve. There will be a sustained level of need for the services Marian House provides into the foreseeable future.

  • Marian House will continue to primarily serve women with multiple conditions that typically include chemical addiction and homelessness. There is empirical evidence that gender specific services are most promising for long-term results for formerly homeless women.
  • Supporting individuals in successfully re-entering the community from prison is a significant need. Many of these women suffer from mental illness and
substance abuse disorders and have a history of physical and sexual abuse. They typically lack a high school diploma, and have children.
  • Marian House alumnae seek meaningful, ongoing interaction with the organization. We believe that they have much to give to the organization and serve as tremendous role models for the current program residents.

We are very proud of this strategic plan and we are confident the period of 2010 – 2015 will be a time of growth and continuous improvement for Marian House.
